An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a vital diagnostic tool that allows us to assess the electrical activity of your heart. At Houston Cardiovascular Care, we offer state-of-the-art ECG services to help us detect, diagnose, and monitor a wide range of heart conditions.

Our Angioplasty Expertise

An ECG is a non-invasive test that records the electrical signals generated by your heart as it beats. These signals are represented as waves on a graph and provide valuable information about your heart's rhythm, rate, and overall electrical activity. ECGs are instrumental in diagnosing various cardiac conditions, including arrhythmias, heart attacks, and other heart diseases.

DR. ABDELKADER ALMANFI, our esteemed cardiologist, and our skilled healthcare team are experienced in performing ECGs and interpreting the results accurately. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality of care and using ECGs as a tool for precise diagnosis and treatment planning.

The ECG Procedure

Here's what you can expect during an ECG procedure:

Preparation: You'll be asked to lie down, and small, adhesive electrodes will be placed on specific areas of your chest, arms, and legs. These electrodes are connected to the ECG machine.

Recording: The ECG machine will record the electrical activity of your heart for a brief period, typically a few minutes. You'll need to remain still and relax during this time.

Analysis: The recorded data is analyzed by our cardiologist to assess your heart's rhythm and electrical patterns. Any irregularities or abnormalities will be carefully examined.

Results: The results of your ECG will be discussed with you, and if necessary, further diagnostic tests or treatment options will be recommended.
