The Angioplasty Procedure
Here's what you can expect during the angioplasty procedure:

Preparation: You'll be given a local anesthetic to numb the area where the catheter will be inserted, typically in your groin or wrist.

Catheter Insertion: A thin, flexible tube called a catheter with a small balloon at the tip is carefully threaded through the blood vessels to the site of the blockage.

Balloon Inflation: Once the catheter reaches the blockage, the balloon is inflated, pushing the plaque or fatty deposits against the artery walls, widening the artery, and restoring blood flow.

Stent Placement: In many cases, a stent (a tiny mesh tube) is inserted at the site of the blockage to help keep the artery open. The stent is expanded during the procedure and remains in place permanently.

Completion and Recovery: After the angioplasty, the catheter is removed, and the incision site is closed with a small bandage. You'll be monitored for a short period in a recovery area before returning home.
